Levi's New Sunny Express Chairlift: The 2026/27 South Slopes Upgrade

Levi is adding a high-speed six-seat chairlift on its sunny South Slopes for the 2026/27 season. Here's what the Sunny Express is, the numbers behind it, and what it means for your ski holiday.

Resort news · 2026/27 season

Levi is adding a brand-new high-speed chairlift for the 2026–2027 winter: the Sunny Express, on the resort's sunnier, quieter South Slopes.

It's the latest step in a long investment programme — around €64 million put into the resort between 2019 and 2026 — and it meaningfully improves lift-served skiing on the South side of the fell.

What's being built

The Sunny Express is a Doppelmayr D-Line six-seat chairlift. It serves the South Slopes — specifically the runs numbered 8.2 and 8.3 — with its upper station sitting roughly 150 metres below the top of the existing South chairlift. That opens up more comfortable, high-capacity lift access on the calmer side of the mountain, away from the busier front slopes above the village.
