Finnish Sauna and Hot Tub At Your Cabin
In Finland, sauna isn’t a luxury — it’s a way of life. Most cabins come with their own private sauna, giving you the freedom to enjoy it whenever you like. Warm up slowly, let the heat melt away the day, and step outside for a breath of crisp Arctic air before heading back in again. In Finland, there are no rules on minimum ages for saunas, how long to stay in the heat or how much steam to make. All ages are welcome to join, as long as they feel comfortable and stay hydrated. Although public Finnish saunas can reach temperatures of 90–100°C , it is recommended to start with 70°C . Pour cold water onto the hot stones and enjoy the löyly , the hug of the steam, and the unique scent of the birch wood. When combined with cold exposure, such as a cold shower, or for the braver, a roll in the snow, sauna does wonders for both body and mind — boosting circulation, easing tired muscles, and helping you sleep deeply. It’s also quite simply, one of the best feelings imaginable after a day spent in the Arctic cold. Some cabins also offer an outdoor hot tub, turning the experience into something extra special — soaking under the sky, surrounded by snow, steam rising into the silence of Lapland. The hot tub’s temperature is usually set to 38°C , the optimal level for winter conditions, and is maintained continuously with the insulating lid in place. On especially cold days, wearing a hat is recommended to keep your head warm while you soak. Make sure to always read the sauna and hot tub user guide of your log cabin!
